Graduate Schools Accredited in Accounting in Delaware

Delaware is located in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic sections of the United States. It is the 44th most populous, the 48th biggest and the sixth most densely populated state in our nation.  With a population of just over 917,000, the U.S. state of Delaware has its share of prominent citizens. In addition to Vice President Joe Biden, famous Delawareans include Valerie Bertinelli – actress, Christine O’Donnell – Republican candidate for Senate (multiple times), Montell Owens -NFL player (Detroit Lions), Ryan Phillipe (actor), Aubrey Plaza – actress (Parks and Recreation), David Plouffe – Adviser to the Obama administration, and Johnny Weir – Olympic ice skater.

Despite its small size, aspiring accountants need not assume they can’t get a quality education in this state. There is one graduate school in the state that holds the respected distinction of being accredited by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business.

Alfred Lerner College of Business & Economics

At the Alfred Lerner School of Business & Economics, the overarching goal of the program is to advance the values of scholarship, innovation and leadership in each of its graduate programs. Staff and faculty at the Lerner School of Business & Economics aim to instill the qualities of perseverance, conscientiousness and independence in its diverse, intellectually curious and adventurous students before they graduate and go out into a global work force that is constantly changing.

MS in Accounting

When you enroll in the MS in Accounting program at the University of Delaware’s Lerner College of Business & Economics, you will become prepared for a career in one of the following areas:

  • Government
  • Information Systems Consulting
  • Industry
  • Public Accounting

This preparation for the work force occurs by completing in-depth work in one of five areas:

  • Auditing
  • Financial
  • Information Systems
  • Managerial
  • Taxation

You can enroll in the MS in Accounting program on either a full- or part-time basis. If you enroll full-time and have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, you can complete the program within one year. Part-time students can take up to five years to finish the program.
