Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Accounting Concentration
Designed to prepare accounting graduates to perform better in an ever-evolving business environment to enhance their job marketability, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a concentration in Accounting is offered to students who have a non-business undergraduate degree and are interested in sitting for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination. Not only focused on career paths in public accounting, the MBA concentration program qualifies graduates with the skills needed at the executive levels of management, finance, and controllership. For completion of the degree, students are required to complete a minimum of 33 semester credits of advanced coursework, including at least 12 credits in accounting electives to form the concentration.

Ideal for students seeking professional positions as auditors, management accountants, consultants, and other high-level roles, the program involves the completion of at least 30 semester units. For those who already hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business from another accredited university, the specialized graduate accounting major coursework will satisfy requirements for taking the CPA examination in Maryland.
Bachelor of Science/Master of Science (B.S./M.S.) in Accounting
Designed to provide a seamless process for students to achieve the required 150 hours of postsecondary education to sit for the CPA examination in Maryland and many other states, the five-year combined Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Accounting program is available to students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and have a GMAT score of at least 400. Requiring all accounting majors to have at least one term of residency at Towson, the program admits students into the graduate program in the second term of the senior year for an accelerated pathway towards a master’s degree. At the conclusion of the program, students will have accumulated 114 undergraduate credits and 45 graduate credits of coursework.
