Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Worldwide – Fort Campbell
Embry-Riddle University, also known as Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, is actually a chain of colleges that operate under this name. The very first campus in the university system opened in Cincinnati, Ohio. John Paul Riddle and Talton Higbee Embry were business partners who operated an aviation company together and later spawned a college that would train students for working for that company later. Many of its early students went through training that taught them how to fly planes. The founders of that first training school later opened a number of similar campuses all across the country, including one in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
MBA – Aviation
Embry-Riddle University offers an MBA in Aviation for those who want to work for airlines and the manufacturers of airplanes. Often called one of the top MBA degree programs in Kentucky, the Fort Campbell campus offers a two year program that consists of 36 credits of work. Students can specialize their degrees in one of several topics, including finance, information technology, accounting, public administration, marketing or international business. ERU also has a separate program open to students who already have an advanced college degree and those who took management classes in the past. This program lets students transfer up to 15 credits they already completed to finish the MBA program even faster. Students must take 21 required courses that include managerial finance, aviation economics and business research methods. They will also take a capstone course that requires some independent research before taking a minimum of 12 credits of electives.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Worldwide – Louisville
Embry-Riddle University is a worldwide school system that operates dozens of campuses under the same name. Founded in 1926 as a flying school in Cincinnati, the school originally offered courses that trained pilots and taught mechanics how to work on airplanes. As the popularity of airplanes grew, companies needed workers capable of building those new planes, which led to the school shifting its focus. There are now more than 100 schools operating under the Embry-Riddle name throughout parts of the United States and Europe. One of the top campuses is the branch located in Louisville, Kentucky.
MBA – Aviation
Students living in Louisville have the chance to earn an MBA with a specialization in aviation through the local campus of Embry-Riddle University. Louisville is home to a number of companies that have a connection to the aviation and aeronautics field, and students may have the chance to work directly for some of those companies as part of their studies. All students enrolled in the program must complete a minimum of 36 credits of work, which must finish over two years. This includes a business foundations course worth three credits and 12 credits of electives. In addition to general courses on aviation economics, international business administration and marketing, students will also take a business capstone course. Students typically create an aviation project or write a detailed paper during this class. Embry-Riddle University also gives MBA Aviation students the chance to choose a concentration in a topic like international business, marketing or public administration.

Thomas More College
Founded in 1921, Thomas More College is a small college that has an affiliation with the Catholic Church. The Benedictine Sisters, a group of nuns based out of Covington, created a small school that trained nuns and women interested in becoming nuns. That school has a separate campus that offered classes for male students. When the two campuses merged to become one single school, it adopted the name Thomas More College. The TMC still exists in Covington, Kentucky, which is just across the river from Cincinnati, Ohio. Students come from both Kentucky and Ohio but also enroll from states across the country.
MBA
Thomas More College offers an MBA program that gives students the option of taking classes in multiple ways. Students can enroll in classes taken on the Covington campus or on the Blue Ash campus, but they can also take one or more classes online too. The college designed the program for students to complete their studies in 18 months, and part-time students usually finish in between two to three years. Those enrolling in the program must take two classes first. One is a class on economics and accounting, and the other class focuses on calculus. TMC lets students take these courses online before beginning the main semester. Students generally finish the courses in just three weeks. The TMC program is also unique because it has an outreach component. Professors working for the college will identify students who need more help and those struggling in their courses to provide additional help.

University of Phoenix – Louisville
One of the largest for-profit schools in the country is the University of Phoenix. Founded in Arizona in the late 1970s, the university had just eight students enroll in its first year. Its founder later opened a second branch of the college in California, which led to UP creating new campuses all across the country and in some foreign countries as well. Apollo Group, Inc. later bought the University of Phoenix and now offers degrees at all levels through its more than 100 campuses. The university now has more than 300,000 online and traditional students enrolled in its programs.
MBA with Multiple Concentrations
The University of Phoenix offers an MBA program that students can take through its Louisville campus or online. The online option is best for those who have work commitments and personal obligations that make it hard for them to take classes on campus. This MBA program comes with a number of concentration options, including finance, accounting, global management, health care management, marketing, human resource management and technology management. UP also gives students the option of earning a general MBA with a certificate in one of these fields. For example, a student might take enough electives to earn a certificate in human resource management at the same time that he or she earns an MBA degree. Regardless of the concentration they choose, students will take some introductory business courses before taking courses within their concentrations. Those general courses include business law, economics, organizational leadership, corporate finance and strategic planning.

Webster University – Louisville
Webster University is a school system that operates several campuses in the United States. This nonprofit university got its start as the Loretto College, which was an all girls’ school that opened in 1915. Originally founded by the Sisters of Loretto, the college had an affiliation with the Catholic Church during its early days. A board of directors now handles the daily operations of the university. Webster University has a low ratio of students to professors and a total population of more than 20,000 students across all its campuses. The university also established its own graduate school that offers advanced courses of study.
MBA
Those responsible for the MBA program at Webster University constantly look for ways to improve that program. Faculty recently added a number of new international business and technology courses based on what employers look for and want when hiring those with an MBA.
