Although Nebraska does not have the number of degree programs of some more densely-populated states, you can still find innovative and comprehensive MBA Programs in Nebraska. Some of these programs are offered at local campuses with flexible hours for working adults and others are online degree programs offered by national universities and the degree programs are the same at all campuses. All of the degree programs in this list are accredited by the ACBSP.
Chadron State College
Business Academy
This school began in 1909 as one of four normal schools approved by the Nebraska State Board of Education. Normal schools were essentially teacher training institutions. On June 9, 1909, the institution became Chadron State College. With a student population of 3,000, this is the only four-year and graduate school in western Nebraska. Five of the college’s buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places. The Business Academy at Chadron State states their “fundamental purpose is to enhance student capacity for learning.” There are three degree programs in the Business Academy: Comprehensive Major in Business, the MBA and a Subject Major in General Business.
Master of Business Administration
This program is designed for professionals in mid-management and supervisory positions. It is intended to add to the knowledge and skills gleaned during the undergraduate programs and in employment. Students may earn degrees traditionally during the day on campus, or in part-time evening and online courses. Areas studied include business, marketing, finance, accounting, economics and Information management systems. Because the courses are offered in a rotation, the degree cannot be completed in less than two years. The program contains 36 credit hours, including 27 in required courses and nine in electives. Students must pass a comprehensive exam before graduation. The program includes an internship, but students must complete 18 credit hours before applying for it.

Kaplan University Lincoln
Business Programs
This school was founded in 1884 as the Lincoln School of Commerce. It later became a satellite campus of Hamilton College of Iowa, and all of that school’s campuses were obtained by Kaplan University in 2007. Kaplan University Lincoln awards associate, bachelor and master degrees and offers traditional day classes, night classes and online programs. Not all degree programs are offered in all formats; most are online. The business programs are outcomes-focused. Because the school has campuses worldwide, the thrust of the degrees is toward international business.
Master of Business Administration
This degree program, with its global emphasis, is offered entirely online. It follows a concentration or non-concentration generalist track. The concentration track contains 60 credit hours of required core classes and 16 credit hours of concentration classes. The degree can be specialized in finance, human resource management, healthcare management, IT, marketing or in project management. The non-concentration track contains 60 credit hours including a capstone experience. Both tracks require the foundational course cornerstone, and its prerequisites which students must take before the cornerstone if they cannot display required competencies. Kaplan is a large organization and offers many resources available through its website.

Business Programs
Kaplan University is a huge for-profit school with headquarters in Davenport, Iowa. They offer many different kinds of learning programs that encompass elementary school learning through university education. There are several local campuses like this one in Omaha and the one in Lincoln, that have some resources and offer limited traditional classes, but most courses are online. The Omaha campus features a resource center with lab space, an electronic library, office spaces and an activity center. Kaplan’s student-to-faculty ratio is 36:1, up from 15:1 just five years ago. The flexible online degree programs are increasingly popular with working adults who can adjust classes to their schedules.
Master of Business Administration
This online degree program utilizes international projects as teaching scenarios. There are six concentrations available in the degree path: finance, healthcare management, human resource management, IT, accounting, project management and marketing. The program stresses personal leadership development and a foundational business knowledge that enables graduates to make responsible decisions. It also emphasizes innovation and “the ethical and social implications of global business decisions.” The program is offered in two tracks. Students can take a generalist track that contains 60 credit hours in core classes or, in the concentration track, follow those core classes with 16 hours of electives to build their specializations.
